I like this. I even added it to my favorites. It's the not most flashy flash, not the best designed of your works ( well, thats debatable of course), and not even the most technologically advanced that I've seen from you. But I'll be damned if it's not fluid.
This layout works because it is fluid. The interface is intuitive and smart. The animations are solid, and probably just about the right length as well ( which is rare these days). The images and scenes are composed well, the music doesn't detract, and the detail is pretty nice as well.
I only see a few problems with this layout. First, it is a tiny problem and easily fixed, but it might just be a matter of personal preference so take this with a grain of salt. I wish that after clicking a link from primary nav, that I didn't have to click 'Back to Home' to get back to the nav. It would be easy to float the nav, or fade it out to low opacity and bring it up to the focus area, and then just make it fade back in fully on mouseover. However, this would create a problem since some of the animations are on the same backdrop, and then it would be weird to click a link and move back down, just to move back up.
The only other thing I see, or don't see really, is brand reinforcement. It is clear, yes, but I think you could have played out brand more throughout.
Overall, I like this layout and site. I'd like it more if it was XHTML/CSS and AJAX/JS. Speaking of AJAX.JS, Flowtools would be perfect for a standard compliant implementation of this.
Lastly, just one question. Does it have any mouse wheel interactivity? It very well could, but my damn mighty mouse is broken again. (3rd one of them I've gone through). If not, it would be cool to see some simple mouse wheel logic, even if not to navigate but just to pan or see extra detail.
Again, good work, and keep it up. I'll hit ya up on msn.
Best regards mate,
- Alex
I realize the idea behind the navigation might be a bit awkward.. but I wanted my screen as pretty as possible.. and I felt the navigation was distracting on the trips and couch pages.. so I decided to throw it away
Html, css, javascript.. would be pure overkill.. flash is designed for things like these.. trying to do it all with javascript would be a waste of time and resources ( especially if you know I created this in just 2 days
and no.. no mouse wheel interactivity.. ( didn't even think of that

And two days. This would take at least a week in js. Thus the advantage of flash is once more revealed to me. The pearly gates opened, and I saw the light at the end of the tunnel. Flash, it's whats for dinner.
Joking aside, I think that this type of site is probably best in flash yes, and I think you did a damn good job on it for only spending two days.
On a final note, I will quote Winston Churchill.
'That shit is dope'.
Ok Churchill didn't really say that, but I think it would be cool if he did, and it would express what I think about this design and site.
Keep it up ^^
This is so. So. So, so, so, beautiful, streamlined, and sophisticated.
First of all, gorgeous choice of music
I really love the notion of "trips" too. Fucking amazing work on the globe and the details for each "region". Of course I hoped that something more would happen when I click on them... however I am by no means complaining.
All in all, fabulous work. Have not seen a web design that made me exclaim to such an extent since `niteangel's "infamous" Angel World

GREAT concept and execution!
Plus I don't need to ask "does it come in black?"
